Friday & Saturday, March 4 – 5, 5:30 p.m., Eastsound Fire Station
— from Justin Paulsen —
The Orcas Island Booster Club is pleased to bring two specialized Positive Coaching Alliance training sessions to Orcas Island on March 4 and 5. Each session will be at the Eastsound Fire Hall and will feature Pizza and beverages starting at 5:30, with trainings from 6:00-8:00.
Friday March 4 will feature a training specifically for parents of young athletes and will be focused on how to best support, encourage and create an environment where all athletes can thrive and succeed. Saturday March 5 will feature a session specifically aimed at helping youth coaches, by providing a forum for discussion on the best way to inspire and instill the love of athletics in our youth sports programming. We encourage all Parents, Youth Coaches and any interested community members to attend!
The Positive Coaching Alliance is a nationally recognized program, with a goal of creating better athletes and better people through targeted training and coaching techniques. The PCA program focuses on the “whole” athletic experience: Athletes, Coaches and Parents in its approach. The PCA program on Orcas Island is a joint effort of The Orcas Island Booster Club, Orcas Island School District and the Orcas Park and Rec District. Funding for the program is provided through a generous grant from our community through the Orcas Island Community Foundation.
Questions regarding the trainings, please contact OIPRD at 376-7275.
