Local visual artists are invited to submit their work to the next Orcas Center Gallery Show which will take place in both the Lobby and the Madrona Room. Organized by the Visual Arts Committee, this exhibit will showcase nature ‘The Natural World: Land, Sea and All Life.’
All types of media will be accepted: painting, photography, other wall art as well as three-dimensional work such as sculpture. Up to two pieces may be submitted with more being accepted if there is room for display. Intake for submitted works will be WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Orcas Center’s Madrona Room.
The opening reception for the show will be held on FRIDAY, MARCH 4 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The show will be on display until Wednesday, March 30.
All submitted wall art pieces must be ready to hang, including hardware and wire. Three-dimensional pieces must be in a stable condition for mounting on provided stands. The works on display may be offered for sale if the artist so chooses.
The Visual Arts Committee offers monthly exhibits at the Orcas Center and welcomes and encourages all members of the Orcas Island community to participate and share their work. For further information or questions, please call Ann Jones at 376-6140.
