— from Didier Gincig, Coordinator, Hearts and Hands —

As the coordinator of Hearts and Hands, I was thrilled when our grant application with United Way of San Juan County was approved. Our ability to coordinate volunteers with seniors and individuals with disabilities is possible due to community donations and grants such as this.
I wanted to help bring attention to the excellent work that the United Way of San Juan County does.Twenty-eight applicants countrywide qualified for funding this year through our local United Way, though not all could be fully funded. In fact, there were less funds allocated this year than last year as there were less funds available.
Did you know that United Way of San Juan County has been serving the islands since 1997? They have done so much good work for many organizations. Their support for Hearts and Hands continues to be vital for helping us do what we do in the community.
If you are in a position to offer a small or major contribution to the United Way of San Juan County, please know that your funds are well-distributed throughout the county, making a major positive impact on people’s lives and the quality of life in the San Juan Islands.
Donations can sent to PO Box 3181, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.
