Thursday, February 25, 7 p.m., Odd Fellows Hall

— from Mark Smaalders —

MarthaJoin Robert d’Arcy, captain of the schooner Martha, as he shares the highlights of a year of offshore sailing and racing.

In 2014–2015 Robert and his crew sailed Martha from Port Townsend to California and Mexico, and then participated in the 48th Transpac race from California to Hawaii.

Martha was built in 1907 and is Washington state’s oldest working sailboat. She serves as a sail training vessel. In 2015 she was the oldest boat to have ever sailed in the Transpac.

Join us for what promises to be a memorable event on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Odd Fellows Hall, and help celebrate a wonderful wooden boat. The program is a benefit for the Wooden Boat Society of the San Juan Islands. Admission is free but donations to support our work are encouraged.

The Wooden Boat Society of the San Juan Islands is a nonprofit based on Orcas Island that promotes the restoration, use, and enjoyment of wooden boats.
