Thursday, May 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Friday Harbor at Mullins Senior Center
Sen. Kevin Ranker, D-Orcas Island and Reps. Jeff Morris, D-Mount Vernon, and Kris Lytton, D-Anacortes, are reaching out to 40th District constituents with a series of three town hall-style forums held throughout the district later in the month and through June.
The purpose of the meetings is to review the work of the 2012 Legislature and to discuss Washington’s ongoing budget challenges and the effects on K-12 education, public services and other programs critical to local communities. Legislators will also be seeking constituents’ thoughts and priorities for the next legislative session.
The first will be held in Friday Harbor at Mullins Senior Center from 6-8 p.m. on May 31.

Sounds like these will be terrific and important meetings. What a shame that Orcas Islanders can’t attend the Friday Harbor meeting unless they are willing to spend the night there, as the last interisland ferry departs Friday Harbor at 5:45 pm.
I second Andrea’s comments
Orcas and Lopez deserve visits from our legislators… let’s work to convince them of the importance “all” the voters of San Juan County.
Andrea is right.
I’m with Andrea and Lance. I’m always surprised with some of the meeting schedules that concern the populace, do they not know that we work.
I second (or third?) the point. If the meeting were moved to earlier, some could at least make the ferry and attend. But if the legislators want to hear from the 3000-4000 folks on Orcas, they really should commit the time to come here.
