Avid reader Trinity Wood is about to celebrate her 12th birthday on January 31.
This year she has decided to forego gifts and is instead asking for friends and family to make a donation to the Orcas Island Public Library in her name. Trinity has read every young adult book at the Orcas Library and it is her goal to raise $1,000 for additional books.
An account on GoFundMe has been set up to enable out of town friends and family to donate. All money raised with this campaign will be earmarked to purchase new young adult fiction books.
Any size donation is much appreciated and will be going to a great cause. Let’s show her that birthday wishes can come true.

I am so proud of this young lady, who also happens to be my eldest Granddaughter! Giving back to one’s community is a value that the world especially needs now and in the years to come. If Trinity’s example can inspire other young people to give back to their community, in whatever way that seems best to them, then she will have done far more than just adding to the library collection. Well done Trinity!
Happy birthday Trinity
God bless your generous heart
