The Salish Sea Early Music Festival presents eight performances on Orcas Island in its ninth annual festival of early music in 2019 beginning on January 27 and extending through June 22, featuring some of the finest period instrument specialists from North America and Europe in chamber music from the Renaissance through the time of Beethoven on period instruments. The Salish Sea Early Music Festival is proud to be an affiliate organization of Early Music America, which develops, strengthens, and celebrates early music and historically informed performance in North America.The festival has presented countless first performances in modern times of period instrument renditions of early works. All concerts take place at Orcas Adventist Fellowship Church at 107 Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound. Please see www.salishseafestival.org/orcas for additional information. Admission is by suggested donation: $15, $20 or $25 (a free will offering), and those 18 & under are free.

- Sunday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. – Baroque Flute & Lute: A tour of 18th-century Germany, France and Italy with John Lenti (theorbo and baroque guitar) and Jeffrey Cohan (baroque flute). Handel, Vivaldi, Blavet and others.
- Sunday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. – Early 19th-century Trios: Music from Beethoven’s time performed on instruments from Ludwig’s time with Oleg Timofeyev (guitar), Steven Creswell (viola) and Jeffrey Cohan (8-keyed flute).
- Sunday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. – Baroque Flute & Lute: A tour of 18th-century Germany, France and Italy with John Lenti (theorbo and baroque guitar) and Jeffrey Cohan (baroque flute). Handel, Vivaldi, Blavet and others.
- Sunday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. – Early 19th-century Trios: Music from Beethoven’s time performed on instruments from Ludwig’s time with Oleg Timofeyev (guitar), Steven Creswell (viola) and Jeffrey Cohan (8-keyed flute).
- Sunday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. – Johann Sebastian Bach’s Sonatas for Flute and Harpsichord: Hans-Jürgen Schnoor (harpsichord) and Jeffrey Cohan (baroque flute) perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s exquisite sonatas, the most well-known works ever for flute and keyboard.
- Saturday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. – Baroque Winds: Chamber music for recorder, oboe, bassoon and flute with Vicki Boekman (recorder), Sand Dalton (oboe), Anna Marsh (bassoon), Jeffrey Cohan (baroque flute) and Jonathan Oddie (harpsichord).
- Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. – J.E.S.T.: an Oldies but Goodies program of 18th-century masterworks by Bach, Rameau and others with the many-decades-seasoned Jeffrey-Elisabeth-Susie Trio, featuring Susie Napper (viola da gamba), Elisabeth Wright (harpsichord) and Jeffrey Cohan (baroque flute).
- Saturday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. – Bach’s Triple Concerto: Carrie Krause (baroque violin), Courtney Kuroda (baroque violin), Steven Crewell (baroque viola), Caroline Nicolas (baroque cello) and Jonathan Oddie (harpsichord) perform one of the greatest orchestral works of the 18th century in this program of concerti.
- Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. – Early 17th-Century Canzonas: Transitional late renaissance/early baroque chamber music with Anna Marsh (dulcian or renaissance bassoon), Shulamit Kleinerman (renaissance violin), John Lenti (theorbo & baroque guitar) and Jeffrey Cohan (renaissance transverse flute).
- Saturday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m. – Late 18th-Century Quartets: Jonathan Oddie (harpsichord), Stephen Creswell (violin and viola), Caroline Nicolas (cello) and Jeffrey Cohan (one-keyed flute) perform little-heard quartets by J.C. Bach, Joseph Haydn, C.P.E. Bach and others.
