As part of the Funhouse fourth annual “Get Off The Rock” College Counseling event, two college counseling consultants will meet with interested students and their families April 15 and 16.
Let’s Go- College!” begins Wednesday, April 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Orcas Public School Library.
Arlene Prince and Judy MacKenzie, Seattle college counseling consultants, will concentrate on current trends in college admission, high school curricular choices, standardized test performance, the application process, and tips on how to choose a college including visits and interview techniques. A concise, updated college notebook will be distributed prior to the meeting.
Thursday, April 16th Arlene and Judy are offering half-hour individual consultations for students and/or parents at the Orcas Public School Library. Students are urged to bring to the meetings unofficial high school transcripts and any standardized college entrance test results such as PSAT, PLAN, SAT, or ACT scores. The first session starts at 7:30 AM. The last session of the day will be scheduled for 3 PM.
Whether students and their parents are thinking about college next year or four years from now, The Funhouse encourages all public school, Christian school, home-school, and Alternative Learning students, their parents, and others who may be interested, to attend.
Students should come ready to brainstorm, armed with pen, paper and any interesting essay prompts for their colleges of choice.
Advance sign-ups for these sessions are required, with preference given to current Juniors.
The cost to participate is $50/all or $20/individual presentation for Funhouse Members, and $100/all or $35/individual presentation for Non-Members. As always, Funhouse scholarships are available and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
To make reservations, ask questions, request a scholarship for this event, e-mail Kate Hansen at kate@thefunhouse.org.
