Orcas Businesses Singled Out for Giving “Great Customer Service”

A recent “customer experience” survey distributed on all three islands garnered 160 responses from residents, business owners, organization executives, managers, and employees.  The survey was meant to gather information to better understand what we, as a community of businesses and organizations, do well, and what areas need improvement, with regard to “customer experiences” both for locals and visitors.

The survey was created and sponsored by the San Juan County Economic Development Council, San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau, San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce, Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce, Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce, and Northwest Workforce Council.

Results from the survey, and next steps, will be presented at the San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Meeting on June 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Place Restaurant (reservations required).  The other sponsors will also be presenting the information to their boards and memberships at various times this month.

The sponsors would like to recognize several businesses mentioned in response to the survey question: “What local business is currently providing great customer service in your opinion?”  Businesses mentioned at least five times included: Ace Hardware, Cotton-Cotton-Cotton, Crow Valley Pottery, Duck Soup Inn, Griffin Bay Bookstore, Inn at Ship Bay, Island Market, Kings Market, Market Chef, and Roche Harbor Resort.

In addition, the sponsors would like to thank those who took the time to take part in this important survey.  For further information please contact Jim Hooper, President, San Juan County Economic Development Council, 378-2906 or info@sanjuansedc.org.
